Welcome to the ACM SIGCHI Protea Chapter in South Africa, ProteaCHI

We are a local chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Human Computer Interaction which welcomes professionals, academics and students.

The ACM SIGCHI Protea Professional Chapter (ProteaCHI) , is the local South African chapter for the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group in Human-Computer Interaction . The chapter focuses on human–computer interactions in a South African and African context. We thus aim to grow the field from both a local and global context to strengthen our bonds in a sense of UBUNTU.

 Researchers, educators, and practitioners can  invited to participate in our community events, including a virtual chapter meeting every other month. You are invited to partake in our volunteering opportunities and contributing towards shaping the future(s) of Human Computer Interaction in South Africa. Members are encouraged to  submit to and attend SIGCHI’s 24 conferences. Here, you will find a link to the next upcoming Symposium happening in September.
