Playtopia

Playtopia returns after a pandemic-forced hiatus! This year's event will take place from the 7th until the 10th of December in Cape Town.

 

Founded in 2018, Playtopia is Africa’s first annual destination Indie Games & Immersive Arts festival and conference. It is a gathering of South African and global creators and players, where we celebrate the African “scene”. A place for people to come together to share ideas, connect across continents and disciplines, and to exhibit work. This year we are proud to host the event at the Homecoming Centre for the first time.

 

The festival has opened its calls for speakers, games, artworks and is encouraging particularly students to apply for its volunteer programme. Ticket sales will be announced soon.
